The Director of Web Strategy will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our web presence to drive business growth and engagement. This role will be responsible for overseeing and executing all aspects of website management, user experience, testing and personalization and SEO. As a strategic leader and hands-on contributor, the ideal candidate will work cross-functionally to deliver best-in-class digital experiences aligned with our organizational goals.

Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May manage web team members, including UX designers, developers, and external vendors/agencies.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to cross-functional teams involved in digital strategy implementation.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Website Strategy, Planning & Execution

  • Define and implement a comprehensive website strategy aligned with business objectives and goals.
  • Lead the roadmap for website development, including site architecture, platform enhancements, and long-term scalability.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, IT, and Sales to identify and prioritize new features, optimizations, and integrations.
  • Establish and enforce governance models for content, branding, accessibility, and legal compliance.
  • Develop and manage a robust testing framework, including A/B and multivariate testing strategies to enhance performance.
  • Implement personalization tactics based on user data and segmentation to deliver tailored, relevant digital experiences.

 

Customer Experience (CX) & User Experience (UX)

  • Direct UX/UI initiatives, ensuring consistent design standards and engaging experiences.
  • Apply analytics, journey mapping, and usability research to improve site structure, and functionality.  
  • Recommend strategies to build and gather customer feedback guide continuous improvement.

SEO & Content Strategy

  • Own the SEO strategy, continuously improving search visibility, site traffic, and keyword rankings.
  • Partner with content teams (internal and external) to align messaging, structure, and delivery with SEO best practices and user needs.
  • Monitor and interpret performance analytics to inform ongoing content strategy and refinement.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Web Design, Digital Media, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in web strategy, digital marketing, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated success managing websites and cross-functional digital projects.
  • Proficiency in UX design principles, SEO tools, CMS platforms, and A/B testing/personalization tools (e.g., Google Optimize, Optimizely, HubSpot, Google Analytics).
  • Strong understanding of current digital technologies, trends, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of ADA/WCAG accessibility standards and implementation.
  • Understanding of privacy regulations including GDPR and CCPA.
  • Certifications in SEO, UX, digital analytics, or related digital platforms (e.g., GA4, UXPA, HubSpot) preferred.

Physical Abilities:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment such as computers, keyboards, phones, printers, and video conferencing tools.
  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings, conferences, or off-site collaboration.

  • High level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks across concurrent projects.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex data to strategic decisions.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment, manage ambiguity, and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Effective communication and decision-making under pressure and within time constraints.

 

Work Environment:

  • This position typically operates in a professional office environment or remote work setting.
  • Regular collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors through virtual and in-person meetings.
  • May involve occasional extended hours during high-priority launches or deadlines.
