The Mortgage Senior Sales Development Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and facilitating advanced sales training programs for the mortgage sales team. This role focuses on enhancing the sales team's skills, improving performance, and increasing sales productivity by providing comprehensive training on mortgage products, customer engagement strategies, compliance regulations, and sales techniques. The Senior Sales Development Trainer will coach and mentor individual team members to foster growth, drive results, and improve overall sales effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement targeted sales training programs that focus on key areas such as mortgage product knowledge, lead generation, sales techniques, customer relationship management, and closing strategies.
  • Tailor training content to meet the needs of both new and experienced sales team members, with a focus on increasing their efficiency and effectiveness in closing deals.
  • Incorporate best practices for mortgage sales, compliance, and customer service into training materials, ensuring alignment with company standards and industry regulations (e.g., RESPA, TILA).
  • Lead dynamic training sessions for sales teams, using a variety of delivery methods, including in-person workshops, virtual training, webinars, role-playing exercises, and e-learning modules.
  • Facilitate interactive learning experiences that engage participants and ensure that training content is understood and retained.
  • Customize training materials based on the audience’s experience level and learning preferences to maximize engagement and effectiveness.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to individual sales representatives, helping them refine their sales techniques and overcome challenges in the mortgage sales process.
  • Offer one-on-one mentoring sessions to improve individual sales performance, focusing on areas such as prospecting, objection handling, and closing techniques.
  • Create a positive, motivational learning environment that fosters personal and professional growth, boosting morale and sales confidence within the team.
  • Assess the performance of sales representatives through monitoring sales metrics, call reviews, role-playing sessions, and post-training assessments.
  • Provide actionable feedback to sales team members, guiding them on how to improve their sales tactics and refine their communication skills.
  • Work closely with leadership and management to track the success of training initiatives, measuring improvements in sales numbers and overall team performance.
  • Design and implement ongoing training programs for sales teams to continuously improve their 2 knowledge of mortgage products, regulations, and sales techniques.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and sales best practices to incorporate new knowledge and tools into training programs.
  • Conduct refresher training sessions to ensure that the sales team remains current with product offerings and compliance regulations.
  • Collaborate with sales leaders to evaluate existing sales processes and recommend improvements based on insights gained from training sessions.
  • Identify barriers to sales success and design training that helps overcome these obstacles, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales team.
  • Provide feedback to management on sales team needs, training effectiveness, and any gaps in tools or resources that could enhance performance.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team, such as conversion rates, customer satisfaction, and sales performance before and after training.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership, summarizing training outcomes, participant progress, and overall effectiveness of sales development programs.
  • Use data to continuously refine and improve training methodologies, ensuring that sales team members achieve measurable performance improvements.
  • Work with other departments, such as HR, operations, and compliance, to ensure that training programs align with overall business objectives and company policies.
  • Collaborate with senior management and leadership to understand strategic sales goals and tailor training initiatives to meet those targets.
  • Assist in creating materials for product updates and compliance changes that need to be communicated to the sales team.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of mortgage products, sales processes, and industry regulations (e.g., RESPA, TILA).
  • Proven track record in designing and delivering effective sales training programs, including both in-person and virtual sessions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
  • Creation of training materials and job aids using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and/or Canva and other software.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning tools. • Strong ability to assess training needs, develop tailored content, and monitor training effectiveness.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback and mentorship to team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to track and measure training outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mortgage sales or financial services, with at least 2 years in a training, coaching, or development role.

Physical Abilities:

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods while conducting training sessions or meetings.
  • Regular use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse to prepare training materials, communicate with team members, and track training progress.
  • Ability to lift training materials or small equipment (up to 20 pounds) when required.
  • Occasional travel may be required for in-person training sessions, conferences, or regional meetings.

  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify training needs and create tailored solutions to address performance gaps.
  • Excellent attention to detail when developing training materials and assessing team performance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while delivering high-quality training programs.
  • Ability to adapt training strategies to accommodate different learning styles, ensuring effective knowledge transfer.
  • Strong organizational skills to plan and execute training sessions, track outcomes, and manage training schedules.
  • Ability to provide constructive, motivating feedback in a professional and supportive manner.
  • Ability to remain focused and positive, particularly when addressing performance challenges or engaging with difficult training scenarios.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes, while maintaining composure and effectiveness.
