Spring EQ is seeking an Underwriting Team Lead, Wholesale to join our growing organization in Mount Laurel, NJ. This position will require you to be in our office 3 days a week in Mount Laurel, NJ.

The person in this position will be an active member of the Wholesale Operations team at Spring EQ. The Underwriting Team Lead is responsible for managing loan escalations from internal and external partners to resolve in a timely manner.  This role requires someone with a history of assuming personal responsibility for these processes, and demonstrating the ability to work independently and efficiently. She/he will also have a history of embracing relationships within a company. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the desire to excel and improve by consistently evaluating refinements to Spring EQ’s processes and showing a passion for continued learning. This critical role requires a passionate and detail-oriented individual who holds Spring EQ’s values of integrity, accountability, and positivity in high regard.

• Manage loan escalations from internal and external partners to resolve in a timely manner
• Support and manage loan files through the manufacturing queue in a timely, accurate and compliant manner
• Complete second review of loans that are outside of underwriter’s authority
• Provide regular pipeline management reporting and feedback to the management team as required
• Identify trending on loan escalations and create an action plan for continuous process improvement
• Provide coaching to manufacturing team members to continually enhance the quality and efficiency of the process
• Lead and motivate a manufacturing team that is focused on multiple job functions towards a common goal
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelors degree preferred
• Strong foundation of mortgage lending knowledge
• Knowledge of mortgage loan operations processing required 
• Two years of underwriting management experienced preferred in a team environment
• Mininum three years experience in a Home Equity or Mortgage underwriting role required.
• Excellent analysis skill with attention to detail necessary
• The ideal candidate will have a self-starter mentality with the ability to solve open ended business challenges
• The ideal candidate will enthusiastically contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
• The ideal candidate will know how to collaborate with team members in a remote environment while also working independently with minimal supervision
